about

I received my Master’s in Social Work from Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, New York. There, I worked in the court system supporting families and began providing trauma therapy for children and parents. In doing this work, I found a deep passion for walking alongside children and families as they heal from stressful life experiences.

After moving to Nashville in 2018, I expanded my range of therapy services and training to focus on a wider range of issues that children and families face, such as anxiety, depression, school challenges, and more. I began to specialize in focusing on attachment relationships between caregivers and children. Forming healthy attachments can be affected by many factors other than what people typically think of, such as personality differences, postpartum emotional challenges, underlying mental health struggles and more. I received training and became rostered in Child Parent Psychotherapy and have received Level 1 and 2 training in Emotionally Focused Family Therapy. Though I work with children of all ages, I believe strongly in early intervention and am especially passionate about providing therapy to children ages 0-6 years old.

I incorporate attachment science and neuroscience into my work with families and provide information and education related to these topics in order to promote greater understanding of behaviors, purpose of behavior, and the role of attachment in navigating life’s challenges.

If clients desire, I am passionate about involving faith in their therapy. I am also committed to the work of diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism in the counseling field—providing services to people of all backgrounds, recognizing the impact of experiences on one’s life, and ways in which systems can hurt and oppress people.

In my free time, I love to read, spend time outdoors, garden, and spend time with my husband and two children. I love to travel (all the pictures on my website are taken from my travels!). I am actively involved in a local church where I serve and engage in different capacities.
